Ethiopian church opens in central Annandale
Central Annandale has gotten a little more diverse with the opening of the Mekan Rame Ethopian Christian Orthodox Church at 7236 Columbia Pike.
The church has just 20 members. It hosts services on Sundays and plans to start Bible study groups on Fridays and Wednesdays, says a church member. The congregation was based in Alexandria before moving to its current location.
The building at 7236 Columbia Pike had been the headquarters of the Annandale Boys and Girls Club for many years before the ABGC moved to a few blocks away on Annandale Road in 2012. The building housed a vape shop for several months in 2015-16.
Cool! Welcome Mekan Rame!
