Fairfax Connector proposes schedule changes

Fairfax Connector seeks public comment on proposed service changes for several routes, including routes 401 and 402, which go through Annandale.

The changes will be discussed at two virtual meetings on Feb. 24 at 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Route 401 goes from the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station to the Tysons Westpark Transit Station, traveling along Backlick Road, John Marr Drive, Little River Turnpike, Hummer Road, and Gallows Road. Route 402 follows the same route in the opposite direction.

Fairfax Connector is proposing “schedule adjustments to improve reliability” for Routes 401 and 402. Frequency of weekday service for both routes would be 15-20 minutes during rush hour and 20-30 minutes during non-rush hour.

Current service is 10-20 minutes during rush hour and 20 minutes during non-rush hour for route 401 and 15 minutes during rush hour and 15-30 minutes during non-rush hour for route 402..

A survey on the proposed changes is available here. The deadline to take the survey is March 1.

The changes are scheduled to take effect on June 27.
