Falls Church High School brought some school spirit into the community Oct. 20 as the annual Jaguar Homecoming Parade wound through the neighborhood.

After the parade, the FCHS community came together for a tailgate celebration at the school with food, games, and more music. The Jaguars then won their homecoming football game, beating Wakefield High School 42-12.

The band wins a state championship.

The school’s good fortune continued, as the Marching Jaguars won the Group 4A State Championships in Virginia Beach the following day.

Various student groups marched in the parade including these students from the firefighter and rescue program in the Falls Church Academy.

  1. Cool–as a marching band alum (flag corps), I have to say I'm glad to see a band getting some press! Congrats to you all for winning the championship, too!

  2. Ditto the above sentiment. Love that you covered this. Wish Annandale High School still had a parade as many members of the community have inquired about it. Who doesn't love a parade?!?!…especially the students! Would love to know why it stopped!
