The farmers markets operated by the Fairfax County Park
Authority offer many varieties of exceptional, locally grown vegetables and
fruit and artisanal food products – along with the opportunity to meet the
people who produce them. There are two markets in the Annandale/Mason area.

The Annandale Farmers Market, at Mason District Park on
Columbia Pike, will be open on Thursday mornings, 8-noon, beginning May 7.

The farm vendors offering fresh produce at the Annandale
market this year include Chesley Vegetable Farms, F.J. Medina & Son
Farm, J & W Valley View Farms, Mt.Olympus Farm, Sharkawi Farm, Twin Springs Fruit Farm, and Westmoreland Produce.
These specialty vendors will also be at the Annandale market:
Bonaparte Breads, Honeycomb Heroes (a veteran-owned farm offering raw honey and
beeswax candles), Naughty Grls Donut Shop,
(an incredible array of “over the top donuts”), The Jammerie (jams,
jellies, chutneys), Valentine’s Country Bakery & Meats (meat from free-range
animals, fruit pies, and more), and Wandering Zorba (homemade Greek
delicacies).

in Merrifield will be open on Sundays, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., beginning May 3.

Can the blog ask someone in the County to put their thinking caps on. I can never go to the Mason Farmers' market, because guess why? It ain't 1950 any more and most households have two working adults that are not available to shop on a weekday and are only free on weekends.
Can Mason get caught up with the rest of the world and open their farmers' market on the weekends?
It's not all about you, Wednesday and Thursday are just fine for Mason and Wakefield Markets. Go to Mosaic or Falls Church Markets, your problem – gone.
And if you visit both the Mason market and the others suggested, you'll see some of the same vendors at multiple markets. Until we solve the space-time continuum, they're not going to be at two places at the same time. ;^)
Isn't this exact scenario what Interstellar is about? It can be done!!!
We are blessed to have so many farmers markets in our community. Perhaps the vendors could create a community-supported agriculture program (CSA) with weekly or monthly delivery boxes to households for those who can't or don't want to come in person. The Green Grocer service also delivers made to order boxes of seasonal produce (& I think meat, fish &/or poultry if you make a cooler of ice available).
