Fast-casual eatery coming to Barcroft Plaza

Honeygrow is coming to this location between Harris Teeter and Pacific Dental Services.

Honeygrow, a fast-casual restaurant specializing in stir-fry bowls and salads, is coming to Barcroft Plaza.

It will be located at 6464-A Lincolnia Road in the space formerly occupied by Chico’s Natural Pet Market.

It’s expected to open in July, says Issa Abuelhawa, manager of the Honeygrow in Tysons.

Customers can order several kinds of stir-fries – buffalo chicken, garlic butter shrimp, red coconut curry with tofu, or example – or create their own. Salads are customizable, too, or diners can choose among a steakhouse chopped, loaded Greek, cold sesame noodle, or other salad options.

“Honeybar” desserts consist of cheesecake, chocolate mousse, or yogurt, with customizable toppings, such as fruit, granola, nuts, coconut, brownie crumbles, and honey (buckwheat, wildflower, or clover).

The restaurant’s name, “Honeygrow,” reflects its slogan: “Honest Eating + Growing Local.”

The company was founded in Philadelphia in 2012. Honeygrow isn’t a franchise operation; it’s a private company that owns and manages all its locations.

There are 36 Honeygrow restaurants on the East Coast, including Reston, Fair Lakes, and Alexandria, as well as Tysons. Another one, in Springfield, is scheduled to open in early March.
