UPDATE: According to sources near the site, construction workers on
the sewer project at Holmes Run Stream Valley Park found a body buried four
feet deep. Fingerprints led to a man in custody who told police another body is
buried there, too. The crime appears to be gang related. The FBI is closely
guarding the site and not letting anyone get close nor providing details. The
investigation is still going on, as of May 21.

People living near Lillian Carey Park in the Mason District might have been disturbed by a large number
of FBI agents in the area this weekend.
Neither the Fairfax County Police Department nor the FBI are giving
details about what is going on. “Our agency is assisting the FBI with an
ongoing investigation and evidence recovery,” said police spokesperson Lucy
Caldwell. “There is no threat to public safety.”

Lillian Carey Park is adjacent to the Holmes Run Stream Valley Park. It’s close to Columbia Park and is across the street from the Lake Barcroft dam.
Caldwell declined to confirm rumors that the activity under
investigation is gang related, but did say rumors about the discovery of a
body in the park are not true.

criminal incident this weekend and that the FBI was at the park to gather evidence.

I walk the Holmes Run Stream Park across from LB dam when it was open before the sewer disaster and never saw this park.
The Lillian Carey Park is basically between the Bailey's Community Center and Holmes Run – it is approx. 57 acres in size.
There continues to be a police presence Monday afternoon.
How 'bout we all let the local police and FBI do what they do best..their jobs! Rest assured if there was anything either of them felt all of us needed to know, we learn of it.
They should send the bodies and the gangsters to some nasty third world country that they most likely came from so that justice will be served.

In 2013, there were reports of headless chickens, animal sacrifices, flowers, cash, and other items in that park possibly connected with Santeria ceremonies.
We live in such an interesting area: cross section of headless chickens, headless trees and headless people. I guess it makes for good news.

FOX 5 News reported on it and showed the Annandale Blog briefly in the broadcast. The FBI isn't talking to the media.
