FCPD officers arrest man wanted for murder in Maryland
Fairfax County police arrested a suspect in Annandale Feb. 6 who was wanted for a 2022 murder in Frederick, Md.
The suspect, Hakeem Earnest Sampson, age 27, was wanted for the first-degree murder of Michael Isaih Olaniyi, the Frederick Police Department reported. Two suspects were identified; Benjamin Michael Johnson was arrested for the fatal shooting and is awaiting trial, and Sampson went missing. Police identified a vehicle used by the suspects during the homicide as a black Maserati Ghibli with Virginia tags.
The FCPD received intel that Sampson was showing up for work on Backlick Road in Springfield. The FCPD SWAT Team and detectives from the Franconia Police Station followed him and took him into custody on Backlick Road at John Marr Drive in Annandale.
