Fire damages house near Roundtree Park

A couple and their child were forced to evacuate after they discovered a fire at their home on Ted Drive in the Falls Church area of Mason District on May 23, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department reports.
Firefighters from the Fairfax and Arlington counties arrived at the two-story split-level home near Roundtree Park at about 1:30 a.m.
One occupant had been woken up by her child crying, and she noticed an orange glow outside the bedroom room. Her husband called 911, and all three got out before the fire trucks arrived.
Smoke alarms sounded after they had already discovered the fire, which started outdoors. Fire investigators determined the fire was accidental, but haven’t yet determined the cause. Damages are estimated at approximately $25,000.
At this point, at the end of July, the house is uninhabitable since late May. They have moved out all their furniture. The estimated damage is $25,000? More like $250,000.
