fire started when an outlet used to supply a space heater powered through an extension
cord in the basement-level garage, fire investigators determined.

six occupants were home at the time and one of them called 911 when a smoke
alarm was activated. No one was injured.The residents declined assistance from the Red Cross.
Damages are estimated at $90,000.
