Fire displaces three in West Falls Church
When firefighters from Fairfax County and Arlington County arrived at 5:44 a.m., they observed fire coming from the rear of the two-story, single-family home.
The fire was accidental in nature and was caused by an electrical event in the air conditioner junction box and spread to the exterior siding.
Three occupants were home at the time of the fire. One of the occupants called 911. The house has smoke alarms but they did not activate, as the fire was on the exterior of the house.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. Damages were estimated at $30,000.
