Fire stations throughout Fairfax County, including Fire Station 8 on Columbia Pike in Annandale, held open houses today to give the public a peek inside fire trucks and ambulances, educate children and their parents about safety issues, give CPR and other demonstrations – and in some cases, spark children’s dreams of being a firefighter when they grow up. Stations 8 and 23, on Little River Turnpike, are jointly operated by the county and the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department.
