Where to go for fireworks near Annandale
There don’t seem to be any major public Independence Day events in Annandale, but there are several close by:
July 3 – Independence Day Parade, downtown Fairfax historic district, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. (rain or shine)
July 3 – Old Fashioned Fireman’s Day, 12:30 p.m., 4081 University Blvd., Fairfax. Firefighter competition, food, and games.
July 3 – Fireworks, Fairfax High School, 3501 Rebel Run, Fairfax. Evening show, featuring City of Fairfax Band, starts at 7 p.m. (rain date for fireworks – July 4)
July 4 – Fireworks at George Mason High School, 7124 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church. Music, featuring the Ken Smith Band, starts at 7 p.m. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. (rain date – July 5)
July 4 – Town of Vienna Independence Day Celebration, Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry St., S.E. Family, friendly events, including arts and crafts, food, live music, venders, and children’s games throughout the day starting at 11 a.m.
July 4 – Fireworks, Southside Park, Vienna, 9:15 p.m. (rain date – July 5)
If you miss the fireworks this weekend, you still have a chance to celebrate on July 10, when the City of Alexandria celebrates its 261st anniversary, 4-10 p.m. at Oronoco Bay Park, 100 Madison St., with live music, children’s activities, food—and fireworks over the Potomac River, beginning at dusk.
