Food drive will help the needy

The pandemic and related job losses are creating hardships for local families. People who can help are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items.
The Mason District Police Station and the Annandale chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) are hosting a food drive at the Mason Government Center, 6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale, on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 10 a.m.-noon.
Donations can be dropped off at a tent in the parking lot. The food will replenish the food pantry operated by the Annandale Christian Community for Action.
These items are most in need: canned soup, canned tuna and chicken, cereal, crackers, cookies, juice, pasta, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, canned ravioli, and mac & cheese cups.
Additional food drives are planned for the same place on Oct. 8 and Nov. 5.
I will Never donate to ACCA. The staff is heartless & cruel to the neighborhood stray cats. Sooo sick of mean people.
