Gros [FCPS] |
Penny Gros, the former principal of Glasgow Middle School and Justice High School, continues to move up in the Fairfax County Public Schools hierarchy.
The school board approved her appointment as the assistant superintendent for Region 4, effective July 1.
In that role, she will be responsible for student achievement, assessment, and the hiring of principals in the Centreville, Lake Braddock, Robinson, South County, and West Springfield pyramids.

She was principal of Justice High School from 2015 to 2018 after serving as principal of Glasgow from 2013 to 2015. She started her career at FCPS as an immersion teacher at Ravensworth Elementary School, then held teaching and administrative positions at several other schools.
What an unfortunate name
Indeed, I hope she doesn't have the same legacy.
I have known Penny Gross for over 20 years. I know her as a dedicated Supervisor who consistently works to do the right thing bringing in as many sides to a situation to gain consensus with the outcome. It is disheartening to read negative comments from people who so often have no idea of the details of decisions but only care that they didn’t get what they wanted.
