Former Mason police commander promoted to deputy chief

Brooke Wright, the former commander of the Mason Police District has been named deputy chief of administration, Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis announced Jan. 9.

Wright previously served as a director of the Criminal Justice Academy.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, she began her FCPD career as a 911 call dispatcher in 1998. A resident of Annandale, she was named assistant commander of the Mason Police District in 2015 and served as commander from 2018 to 2021.

She completed the Professional Executive Leadership School through the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police at the University of Richmond; the Women’s Leadership Institute through the International Association of Chiefs of Police; and the Leadership Fairfax program. She will enroll in the FBI National Academy in April.

Davis also announced the appointment of Eli Cory as deputy chief of investigations. Cory is a former commander of the West Springfield Police District.

  1. Let’s hope she can rise to the occasion. Mason has become very crime ridden, loud noisy and speeding cars rule the roadways and pedestrians are getting killed exponentially.
