Fairfax County police have released the names of four people arrested for participating in robberies and brutal assaults in the Annandale area that started with ads on Craigslist, Channel 4 News reports.
The suspects are Wendy Lotongo, 19, of Alexandria; David Williams, 20; of Annandale, Mohamed Haddou, 19; of Annandale; and David Obripau, 19, of northeast D.C. They are former Annandale High School students, according to the school’s newspaper, the A-Blast.
The suspects allegedly posted ads on Craiglist offering to sell iPhones and lured their victims to a meeting spot where they assaulted and robbed them. There were five of these attacks in the past few months.
In two of the cases, the suspects lured victims to a playground in Annandale, where three men came out from behind trees and punched and kicked the victims and took their money and phones. One beating was so brutal the victim suffered a broken bone and vision loss. Police believe others may involved in the crimes.
