Free meals offered to eligible children at local schools, community centers

Free meals are being provided to children this summer at several area schools and community centers through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) summer food service program for children. The program is aimed at ensuring that students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals during the school year continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.

A total of 55 Fairfax County public schools will be providing breakfast, lunch, or both to eligible children, including the following schools in the Annandale/Mason area:

• Annandale Elementary School—July 1-Aug. 9: 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; July 15-Aug. 2: 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• Bailey’s ES—July 15-Aug. 2: 9-9:30 a.m. and 1-1:30 p.m.
• Beech Tree ES—July 15-Aug. 2: 8:45 a.m.-9:15 a.m.

• Braddock ES—July 15-Aug. 2: 8:30 a.m.-9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-noon.
• Bren Mar Park ES—July 1-Aug. 9: 8:30-9:15 a.m. and 12:15-1 p.m.
• Camelot ES—July 8-Aug. 2: 11 a.m.-noon
• Columbia ES—July 15-Aug. 2: 8:30-8:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
• Glasgow Middle School—July 1-Aug. 2: 8-8:30 a.m. and 10:45-11:45 a.m.
• Glen Forest ES—July 1-Aug. 9: 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Holmes MS—July 15-Aug. 9: 8-9 a.m. and 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• Jackson MS—July 15-Aug. 2: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• Mason Crest ES—July 15-Aug. 2: 12:45-1:25 p.m.
• Parklawn ES—July 15-Aug. 2: 9:30-9:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-noon.
• Poe MS—July 15-Aug. 9: 8:45-9:15 a.m. and 11-11:20 a.m.
• Sleepy Hollow ES—July 1-Aug. 9: 8:30-9:15 a.m. and noon-1 p.m.
• Stuart High School—July 8-Aug. 6: 7:45-8:15 a.m. and 11:55 a.m.-12:10 p.m.
• Westlawn ES—July 1-Aug. 9: 8:15-9:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
