Be sure to bring the kids to the Taste of Annandale. A full day of entertainment and activities is planned for children by the ACCA Child Development Center.
The Taste of Annandale is a community festival Oct. 14, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., on Tom Davis Drive in the heart of the community.
The children’s program, organized by CDC Executive Director Maria-Isabel Ballivian, will take place outside and indoors at the CDC, 7200 Columbia Pike, across the street from the main action at the Taste of Annandale. Crossing guards will ensure families cross the street safely.
The highlight of the children’s program will be a Dinorock show at 11:30 a.m. featuring puppets and live actors dressed as dinosaurs – but there’s much more going on.
Costumed characters from “Paw Patrol” will be on hand. A musician will entertain the kids at 10 a.m. There will be two science shows during the day, a musical show in the afternoon, and movies for families on environmental conservation topics.
All day long, there will be face painting, bookmaking and other crafts, a DJ playing music, and family photo opportunities in a pumpkin patch.
The CDC is next door to the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department, which is having an open house on Oct. 14.
