Funeral details announced for Gerry Connolly

There will be a public visitation for Congressman Gerry Connolly tomorrow, May 26, at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, 5-8 p.m., the Connolly family announced.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 27, 11 a.m., at Heritage Fellowship Church, 2501 Fox Mill Road, Reston. Supplemental parking and a shuttle bus will be available from the Park and Ride – Reston South, at 2531 Reston Parkway. Carpooling is encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Gerry’s memory by supporting two organizations near and dear to his heart – Arts Fairfax and the Lamb Center, a drop-in daytime shelter for the homeless.

Gerry Connolly lost his battle with cancer on May 21. He chaired the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors before being elected to Congress in 2008.
