FXCO approves plan for Hogge Park
The master plan for the Boyd A. and Charlotte M. Hogge Park in Bailey’s Crossroads, approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors last month, outlines a series of amenities for the 6-acre property that could be developed when funding becomes available.
The park consists of two separate areas with a narrow path connecting them. The southern half of the park would remain largely wooded.
The master plan calls for the northern section to have a picnic pavilion; an open lawn area that could be used for such activities as Frisbee throwing and kite flying; a court for basketball, tennis, or other sport; an area for a playground or fitness equipment; community gardens; trails; and a parking lot.
At a community meeting on the proposed plan last fall, residents of the area spoke about their vision for the park, and the final plan addresses public comments.
