Get in shape now for the Taste of Annandale 5K

The start of the Taste of Annandale 5K in 2016.

Plans are shaping up for the Taste of Annandale 5K, to take place Saturday, Oct. 14. It’s the opening event of the third annual Taste of Annandale.

The race starts at the Kmart on John Marr Drive at 10 a.m. The course, not yet finalized, will be certified by U.S.A. Track & Field.

A one-mile fun has been added for the first time this year.
Online registration should be open shortly. Registration for the 5K is $20 for ages 15 and up and $12 for age 14 and younger. 5K registration includes a T-shirt and bib. There is no charge for the Fun Run.

If you’re interested in sponsorship opportunities or volunteering for the 5K/Fun Run, contact David Roach, [email protected].

Planning for the rest of the Taste of Annandale, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. along Tom Davis Drive in central Annandale, is well under way, too. The family-friendly community festival features food from local restaurants and food trucks, all-day live music and dance, a chili cook-off, and more.

Children’s programming at the Taste of Annandale – including puppet shows, songs, crafts, and games – is hosted by the ACCA Child Development Center at 7200 Columbia Pike.

The Taste of Annandale steering committee is seeking sponsors and vendors. The sooner you sign up, the more publicity your business will receive.
