Grant approved for field at Pine Ridge Park

The Fairfax County Park Authority Board approved a $7,896 Mastenbrook grant for the Annandale North Springfield Little League May 23 to improve fencing on the outfield and batting cages for field #3 at Pine Ridge Park on Woodburn Road in Annandale.

The existing fencing is in poor condition and does not meet current Park Authority fencing standards.

Mastenbrook Grants provide limited matching funds for projects in Fairfax County parks for such projects as dog parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, gardens, and trees. The maximum grant amount is $20,000, and matching funds cannot exceed 50 percent of the total cost.

Neighborhood associations, environmental groups, sports leagues, scout troops, churches, and individuals can submit applications for Mastenbrook grants.
