Help Bailey’s Crossroads firefighters’ buy a new ambulance

A new fire station is under construction on Firehouse Lane in Bailey’s Crossroads.

The public is invited to come out to the Dogfish Head Alehouse
in Seven Corners next Tuesday, July 23, to help the Bailey’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department raise funds for a new ambulance.
The restaurant, at 6220 Leesburg Pike, will donate a portion
of the proceeds from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. to the fire department’s campaign to raise $270,000. The station is one of the busiest in the county, so its ambulances
get a lot of use, says EMT Jenn Lewis.

There will a silent auction where people can bid on a wine tasting
for 20, a golf package, manicure/pedicure combinations, and much more.
There will also be raffles, music, and an ambulance on display for kids to
explore.

Construction is under way on a new fire station to replace the
building damaged by heavy snowfall in 2010. Lewis says the firefighters’ temporary
quarters, on the corner of Moncure Avenue and Columbia Pike, are “cozy and
comfortable.” The new station is supposed to be finished by the end of the year.
