High school students can be ‘election pages’

The Fairfax County Office of Elections invites high school students to help out on Election Day as an “election page.”

Election pages will serve an eight-hour shift at a polling place on Nov. 5 under the supervision of a chief election officer.

To participate, students must be (1) enrolled in a high school government class or (2) be at least 16 years old and fluent in English and also fluent in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Korean. Applicants must sign up for a two-hour training session.

Election pages are not paid but will receive a certificate of appreciation and credit for community service hours.

For more information, contact the Office of Elections, 703-324-4735.

Adult poll workers are still needed, too. Poll workers are paid. Training begins in September.
