to a conference on Saturday to learn how to create a peacebuilding club at

Xuan Huynh, a student at Woodson High School, and a
team of her peers developed the event to empower local youths to become
community leaders and provide them with leadership and organizing skills so
they can set up their own initiatives.

The Open Peacebuilding and Leadership Conference is
at the James Lee Community Center, 2855 Annandale Road, Falls Church, Dec. 14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
The
conference is free. Lunch and snacks will be provided, as well as free
t-shirts. Space is limited, so if you’d like to participate, register online.

figure out what issues they want to work on and how to organize a team, set up
a peacebuilding club, reach out to the public, and raise funds.
Speakers include Bridget Moix, U.S. executive director of Peace Direct, and Zainab Mohsini, a community activist who plans to seek the Democratic endorsement as a candidate for the 11th congressional district.
