It’s holiday craft fair season, with local artisans and
crafters showcasing their work at venues all over the Annandale/Mason area and
beyond over the next few weeks. As you check off names on your holiday shopping
list, how about searching for that one-of-a-kind, homemade gift rather than
fight the crowds at the malls?

This Saturday, there’s a Christmas Bazaar at St. Albans Episcopal Church, 6800 Columbia Pike, Annandale. This event, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.,
features homemade items, toys, games, books, pressed flower art, candy,
jewelry, baked goods, and “high-class white elephants.” Shoppers can purchase
breakfast and lunch, and children can visit “Santa’s Secret Shop” and have their
picture taken with Santa.

Next weekend, St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church is
having a juried craft show Friday, Nov. 22, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday, 9
a.m.-3 p.m. There will be about 35 exhibitors offering jewelry, fine arts,
woodwork, fiber art, photography, paintings, pottery, pet accessories, stress
relief items, holiday decorations, collectibles, and food. There is no
admission charge.

An on-site café will serve lunch both days, 11:30 a.m.-1:30
p.m., and dinner on Friday, 5:30-7 p.m. There will be a bake sale, too.

The huge 36th Annual Holiday Arts and Craft Show at the
Audrey Moore RECenter at Wakefield Park, Annandale, is the weekend of Dec. 7-8.
The show will have pottery, woodwork, paintings, dolls, clothing, floral
arrangements, edible gifts, glasswork, ornaments, and much more.

in the Packard Center at 4022 Hummer Road, Annandale, offers a selective mix of
ceramics, woodwork, jewelry, fiber art, and other creative items produced by
local artisans. It’s open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 12-4 p.m.
