Huge used book sale at George Mason Regional Library starts today

The used book sale at George Mason Regional Library has some rare antiquities, beautiful art books, signed first editions, and more treasures, as well as bestsellers, science fiction, how-to books, travel guides, cookbooks, children’s books, classics, romance novels, foreign language books, music CDs, movies, and much more.
The book sale, hosted by George Mason Friends is open Thursday, April 19, 3-9 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday 10-a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday noon-5 p.m. 
Here are a few of the many highlights available at this year’s book sale: 
  • Subversive Beauty, by Luis Royo; Norma Editorial, 2005; deluxe edition with slipcover, unbound print, and certificate of authenticity. $125. 

  • Interpretacion del Codice Selden, 3135(A.2), by Alfonso Caso; Sociedad Mexicana de Antropologia, Mexico, 1964. (The Codex Seldon dates from before the Spanish Conquest and records the history of the Mixtec region.) $100.
  • Falnama, the Book of Omens, by Messaumeh Farhad. Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, 2009. Exhibition catalog of illustrated texts on the art of divination in Safavid Iran and Ottoman Turkey. $150.
  • I Am Not Spock, signed by author Leonard Nimoy, Celestial Arts, 1975. $100.
