Indoor dog park with bar to open in 2023
Dog-owning beer lovers, rejoice. A new concept combining those interests is expected to open in Shirlington next August.
Snouts & Stouts, at 2709 Oakland St. in Arlington, will be an indoor dog park with a bar.
“One of the biggest reasons I started this business is because of my immense love of dogs,” says founder and CEO Daniel Ramos. “I have always felt a calling to be in the dog industry and wanted to find a way to provide something of value to our community of dog lovers.”
The future Snouts & Stouts building is currently occupied by New District Brewing, which is not renewing its lease. Ramos will not take occupancy and begin construction until late spring.
While Snouts & Stouts would be close to the Shirlington Dog Park, Ramos says his place will offer dogs a place to play when it’s too hot, too rainy, too cold, or too muddy to play outside.
Snouts & Stouts will have over 6,000 square feet of off-leash play area. Ramos plans to install “many different safeguards to eliminate any bad odors and keep everything sanitary so that both dogs and humans can comfortably enjoy the space.”
Visitors with dogs will be required to be members of Snouts & Stouts. Memberships are $35 a month during the facility’s early “puppy phase” or $45 a month. There is no charge for humans without dogs.
The facility will also offer dog daycare and boarding.
New District is a great brewery – what is becoming of it?
Serious liability with people drinking around strange dogs.
Seems to work fine in Europe.
I’m not a beer drinker, but my pug and I are looking forward to this. I hope there will be a separate area for small dogs.
