Infill houses for sale near Lake Barcroft
The Chapman model home. |
A model home at Brooks Place, an infill development off Sleepy Hollow Road, is now open for viewing by prospective buyers.
The developer, Evergreene Homes, is building eight homes along a cul de sac at the end of Brooks Place, which is in between the Lake Barcroft and Malbrook communities.
The kitchen. |
Several Malbrook residents had fought the development, charging it violates their subdivision covenants, but lost in court. One complaint involves access; the only way to get to the new homes is via Brooks Place, a narrow one-lane road.

Evergreene plans to build another spec home, but the remaining houses won’t be built until they are sold, says Debby James, regional sales manager.
The great room. |
The 6,503-square foot model home currently open, the Chapman, has the most features and the highest price, at $1,481,696. (The prices are subject to change, James cautions.)
The master bedroom has a sitting area. |
The house has five bedrooms, four and a-half bathrooms, a full dining room, great room, formal living room, large office, butler pantry, mud room, laundry room, two-car garage, and a mostly finished basement.
The master bathroom. |
It also has hardwood floors on the main level and upstairs hallway, an oak staircase, a natural gas fireplace in the great room, stainless steel appliances, high-performance insulation, and energy-efficient mechanical systems.

Some of its features – such as a full front porch and “morning room” next to the kitchen – are optional. The base price without the upgrades is $1,339,900. The lowest-priced model in the development, the Tisbury, starts at about $1.2 million.
The future home sites. |
The homeowners will be part of an homeowners association and will be charged a $90 monthly HOA fee for such services as trash pickup and snow removal.
Such a waste of…..everything. Tearing down those trees on Brooks lane was awful. Greedy developers. Say sayonara to the Glavis property next!
Hear, hear. I cringe when I see these things.
It would be nice if they could put in some mid-range housing ($650,000-$850,000). There seems to be lots of starter homes ($400,000)in Mason and all the new stuff is $1 million plus.
