Intruder threatens woman sleeping in Annandale apartment
Police officers from the Mason District station are investigating a “suspicious event” that occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at an apartment in the 4100 block of Wadsworth Court in Annandale
A 25-year-old woman reported that she awoke to find a strange man standing over her bed with his hands around her neck. “She screamed and the suspect fled out her open bedroom window,” the police reported. “The suspect was described as black, in his late 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, and approximately 160 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing.” The woman did not see a weapon.
The police helicopter and a K-9 team responded to the area, and detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. Residents of that area are asked to report any suspicious activity.
