It’s holiday craft fair season

With Thanksgiving around the corner and the December holidays looming on the horizon, the craft show/church bazaar season is in full swing. This Saturday, Nov. 15, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church is having its annual Christmas Bazaar. (9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., 6800 Columbia Pike, Annandale.)

Venders will be offering baked goods, books, art, toys, games, jewelry, pressed flowers, Christmas decorations, handmade items, and “white elephants.”

Children of all ages can have their picture taken with Santa. There will also be face painting, poinsettia orders, raffles, and caroling by the church choir. A café will be open for breakfast and lunch.

Next weekend, St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church (8617 Little River Turnpike, Annandale) it having its annual craft fair with dozens of venders, a bake sale, and lunch in the café. It’s open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22.

The biggest holiday craft show in the area is Dec. 6 and 7 at the Audrey Moore RECenter in Annandale, with nearly 120 artisans selling paintings, pottery, woodwork, quilts, clothing, edible gifts, jewelry, ornaments, and much more. There will be door prizes throughout the event. It’s open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $2; children 12 and under are free.
