Jakes’ Ice Cream hosts grand opening with contests and prizes

Jake’s Ice Cream is hosting a grand opening celebration Sunday, Sept. 5, and Labor Day, Sept. 6, with contests and prizes. 

Jake’s is in Barcroft Plaza, 6353 Columbia Pike. It’s open daily 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

There will be three contests, with prizes awarded for the best drawing of an ice cream cone, the best haiku about ice cream, and the best short essay on the topic “what I like best about Jake’s Ice Cream.”

The first person in the door on Sept. 5 and 6 will get a prize. Anyone who gets a receipt with any of the letters J-A-K-E will receive a giveaway while they last. There will also be color-changing spoons for cups and sundaes while they last.
