Kajiken, a Japanese restaurant specializing in abura soba, opened in Pinecrest Plaza in Lincolnia, at the end of 2024.

Abura soba is “soupless ramen” made with thick, chewy noodles, a blend of sauce and spices, and a choice of additional ingredients.

Also on the menu: donburi, ramen, pork dumplings, black sesame mousse cake, and much more.

The restaurant is located at 6550-K Little River Turnpike in the former Foxfire Grill space. It’s open daily 11 a.m.-9:45 p.m.

The first Kajiken restaurant opened in Japan in 2010. By 2022, the chain had 100 stores worldwide, including the first one in the United States, in Baltimore. There are now eight locations in the U.S., including Rockville, Md.

The company hopes to expand its presence in the U.S. and open an additional 100 locations within the next five years.
