Justice principal hires assistant principals from Poe and Luther Jackson

Nelson

Sean Rolon, the new principal of Justice High School, has hired two assistant principals from other local schools.

Ashley Nelson comes from Poe Middle School where she has served as an assistant principal since 2021.

Before that, she was a high school assistant principal in Shreveport, La., and a middle school assistant principal in Dallas.

Kelsey Touré has been an assistant principal at Luther Jackson Middle School since 2022. She was previously a dean of students and an English teacher at both Fairfax County Public Schools and  Metro Nashville Public Schools.

“Both Ashley and Kelsey are strong leaders with histories of positively impacting students, staff, and school communities,” Rolon says. “I am confident they will do the same here at Justice.”

  1. Doesn’t matter – these schools ain’t teaching nothing! Come to Fairfax and get a garbage education thanks to Democrats.

    1. I don’t agree with all their policies either. But that’s not the point of this discussion. Read what I wrote down below.

  2. Taylor retired and I know the other but until announced I’m not sure I can comment. But I’ll say this. It’s a male😜

  3. Anybody who has concerns, just let me reassure you this. I worked with Sean Rolon. He is an amazing leader and is going to do great things at that school. I’m very happy that Justice was able to grab such a strong candidate after the atrocity that happened the last couple years.

He is going to work To make sure that Justice gets better. It’s going to take time it will not be changed overnight but you will see improvement. I can guarantee you this. Instead of seeing teachers running away from this area both at Justice and Glasgow, you will start seeing stability. You got a great leader. Give him his time and he will change things

    1. He left because he didn’t do anything and the former principal allowed him to run the school into the ground like she did. Best of luck to this new admin team. Justice kids deserve way more than the absolute neglect they have received the past 3 years. God bless.

  4. As a teacher nobody understands how poorly behaved some of these kids are. We are not allowed to discipline them and they become such big distractions that we are are unable to teach other students. It doesn’t matter how many times we contact parents or write them up to admin. Nothing can be done due to the fact that the school district(many others as well) believes that suspending kids and providing discipline was bad for those students.
Sure data showed that suspending kids lowered graduation rates but those kids are not being suspended now and still have lower graduation rates. However now they are hurting more students than themselves by being a constant distraction and bad role model.

  5. The assistant principals who recently left were not good and were a huge cause of the school’s downfall. Both of them, along with Narcisse, created a hostile and toxic school culture for staff and students. Both were not good leaders and pushed out a plethora of good staff. I’m thankful that Dr. Rolon is now in charge. I’m hoping he builds a true positive culture at Justice and undoes the wrongs and arrogance of Narcisse.

    1. Agree with “It’s a Time for Change.” It goes deeper than the AP’s though. Justice has other individuals in administrative roles who are very toxic. It’s sad really. To see this school collapse the way it has is a disservice to the hardworking people in the community. It is a major issue that needs to be addressed. Dr. Sean Rolon brings a strong background and good experience (including being in the Glasgow and Falls Church communities), so that should help improve the school and the culture, but we do not know the depth to which the changes need to be made.
