K Market grocery store opens in Annandale

The K Market international grocery store opened May 21 on John Marr Drive in Annandale.

The huge store is the anchor for the new retail center that replaced the old Kmart.

K Market features a wide selection of food from Korea, (many varieties of kimchi and tofu, for example), items from Latin America,
India, and other places, a big fresh seafood counter, and a housewares section.

The store is offering specials this weekend, says manager Alex Shin, including huge watermelons for $1.99 each and mackerel for 99 cents a pound.

The food court inside the store will open in a week or two, Shin says. It will have seven vendors, including stalls selling Korean, Korean fusion, Japanese, and Chinese food, plus Dragon Mochi Donut, Cake House, and a bakery.

There will also be stores within the store offering Cuckoo brand air cleaners and water purifiers, massage chairs, and money grams.

The future food court.

  1. Got to give it a try, the interior looks much better than the exterior. Hopefully the food will be high quality and not the usual third world dirty markets that these pop up grocery stores sometimes can be. Love the idea of a big seafood area and interesting product inventory that is not main stream. As long as it is clean, reasonably priced and good quality, i will give it a whirl.

  2. Fantastic selection of Asian Hispanic and Indian food. Super clean, spacious and well organized. Food court is good especially Suny Sushi. Kmarket is a great addition to Annandale.
