Kids’ active play center opens at St. James

Super, Awesome & Amazing, the kids’ active entertainment center at the St. James sports complex in Springfield, officially opened to the public Nov. 30.

It has a ninja warrior course; three climbing structures, including one that can be used for racing; a jungle gym that can be used for Nerf battles; trampolines; a ropes course; and virtual reality and video games.

There will be a café Super, Awesome &amp, but it’s not set up yet, and the computers for e-sports games haven’t been set up yet. While the center is geared toward children, adults can play, too.

St. James members have free access to Super, Awesome & Amazing Monday through Thursday until 3 p.m. After that, members pay $15 an hour, and it’s $15 an hour on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Non-members pay $15 an hour before 3 p.m. and $23 an hour after 3 on Monday through Thursday and on Friday through Sunday.

There are several party rooms available for rent at Super, Awesome & Amazing. A room rental is $475 for up to 15 guests and includes one and a-half hours of play time. Food packages range from $12 to $28 a person. Members get a 15 percent discount for food and 20 percent off the rental charge.

The sports courts, ice rinks, pool, water park, health club, spa, and other sports features at the St. James opened in September. The Vim & Victor restaurant is set to open in late December for members and Jan. 10 for the public. The Striders store, specializing in athletic shoes and clothing, will open in early 2019.
