Korean restaurant opens in space formerly occupied by Markham Street Café
The much-appreciated but short-lived Markham Street Café has been replaced by a Korean restaurant called Hansin Pocha. The large interior has been completely redone, with many of the tables partially enclosed for privacy.
It’s in the rear of small shopping center (with the A&J restaurant and Tampopo) at 4316 Markham Street in Annandale.
One of the most popular items on the menu is a whole fried chicken torn up at the table by a waiter wearing special gloves ($19.99).
Other specialties include chicken feet with spicy sauce ($17.99), raw Korean oysters ($19.99), fish and crab cutlet ($12.99), potato pancakes ($12.99), sea eel ($29.99), beef intestines with seasonings ($19.99), and spicy pork skin ($19.99).
A waiter told us Hansin is open daily, 4 p.m.-3 a.m., although the Hansin Facebook page lists the hours as 5 p.m.-2 a.m.

That’s too bad, I liked the food at Markham. Best of luck to the new place, will have to check it out!
I only went once to Markham, but enjoyed it. What happened? I love Korean food and regularly eat at Yechon, but it would be nice to have other options.
Yeah I wonder why Markham closed down, always meant to check it out b/c I heard it was nice and became popular. I guess you snooze you lose, but at least I don't miss what i haven't experienced. I do miss Tous Les Jours I liked that place for a cafe. Any other good cafes to relax in around Annandale?
