KORUS Festival celebrates all things Korean

Large crowds jammed the Kmart parking lot last weekend for the seventh annual KORUS Festival, featuring traditional and pop music, break dancing, martial arts demonstrations, and food–lots of food.

The event, hosted by the KORUS House of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korean American Association of the Washington Metropolitan Area, is aimed at celebrating Korean culture, educating the public about the Korean-American community, and strengthening the ties between Korea and the United States.

The event takes place around the time of Chuseok, a holiday of thanksgiving that celebrates the beginning of the autumn harvest.
