Latino carryout restaurant opens in Annandale

Antojitos De Mi Tierra, a Latino carryout restaurant at 7258 Columbia Pike, Annandale, invites the public to its grand opening Saturday, Sept. 30, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

The eatery offers food from a variety of countries, says manager Monica Gomez, including garnachas from Guatamela, papusas from El Salvador, baliadas from Honduras, sopes from Mexico, and pollo asado from Peru – as well as tortillas, taquitos, flautas, and tacos.

It’s all freshly made in house and it’s like what you would find in someone’s home, Gomez says. For those unfamiliar with garnachas, they are corn tortillas filled with beef, tomato sauce, and cheese.

The eatery, which has already had a soft opening on Sept. 23, offers delivery and catering, as well as carryout. Don’t be put off by the sign out front that says Tortilla & Company; that’s the trade name, Gomez says. To order a meal, call 703-582-1591.
