Lifetime Leadership Program helps retirees give back to community

Retirees finally have time to pursue hobbies and relax, but
for those who’ve accumulated a lifetime of skills and knowledge, the Lifetime Leadership Program (LLP) offers a way to use their expertise in a personally rewarding way to make a difference
in their communities.

The LLP seeks retirees who want to move their lives from “success
to significance.” The program offers a two and a-half month training session to
help people explore opportunities for civic awareness, community engagement,
and high-level volunteering.

The fall session begins Sept. 18. To be eligible, you need a demonstrable
connection to Fairfax County and evidence of leadership in the workplace or
community. It also requires a significant financial contribution; tuition for the six daylong classes is $500.
You can learn more about this program by attending one of two
introductory meetings this summer: July 10, 1-3 p.m., or Aug. 1, 11 a.m.-noon.
Both meetings are at the Leadership Fairfax offices, 8230 Old Courthouse Road,
Suite 350, Vienna. To register, contact Moniek, 703/752-7504.
