Gov. Terry McAuliffe already declared a state of emergency Feb. 11, which empowers VDOT, the National Guard, other state agencies, and utilities to start preparing for a storm “predicted to create power outages and significant travel challenges.”
The governor advises residents to stock up on food, water, and batteries and avoid unnecessary travel. Check road conditions at www.511Virginia.gov or call 511. Visit the Fairfax County Emergency Blog for updates.
