Man arrested for carjacking
The victim reached inside to disable the car and her arm got stuck in the door frame. She was able free herself and suffered minor injuries as the suspect drove away.
Prince George’s County Police officers found the car and arrested Brandon Bright, 30, of Maryland. Bright will face charges in Fairfax County pending further investigation.
There were also two robberies during the weekend. In one incident, at Fairmont Gardens at the corner of Little River Turnpike and Wadsworth Court in Annandale shortly before 4 a.m. on Oct. 5, two men pushed a victim to the ground. One of the men displayed a knife and demanded property. The suspects were described as Hispanic, in their 20s, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches, with black hair.
The other incident happened in the 6000 block of Vista Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 6. A man displayed a knife and demanded the victim’s purse. The victim ran away, unharmed, and no property was relinquished. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man.
