Man arrested for larceny at Home Depot

The Fairfax County Police Department reports the following recent crimes in the Mason District area:

A D.C. resident, Eric Patterson, age 19, was arrested for grand larceny at the Seven Corners Home Depot on Feb. 11.

Officers arrived at the store at about 12:30 p.m. after someone called in a larceny in progress. The suspect had already left, but officers caught him as he was trying to get on a bus. In addition to larceny, Patterson was charged with possession of burglarious tools, giving false identification to law enforcement, and an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.

The FCPD is investigating a shooting into an occupied dwelling that occurred at about 4 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the 3400 block of S. Jefferson Street in Bailey’s Crossroads. A resident had heard a rattling sound coming from her living room. She found nothing suspicious and went back to bed. The next morning, the victim saw a hole in her window and noticed damage to other property inside. Police found a spent round.

Someone broke into Mama’s Laundromat at 6511 Braddock Road, Lincolnia, at about 3 a.m. on Feb. 9 and stole the cash register. The suspect is still at large.
