Man arrested for robbery might be linked to other similar crimes
Mason District officers arrested a man for robbery on March 4 in Culmore and believe he might be connected to six other similar incidents in the same area.
Police say Josue David Argueta-Perez, 23, of Falls Church, was in the 6000 block of Vista Drive on March 29 when he displayed a knife, took the victim’s property, and ran away. Officers found him nearby and took him into custody.
Argueta-Perez was charged with robbery and is being held without bond.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division are looking into several robberies and attempted robberies that have occurred since March 4 in the area surrounding Glen Carlyn Drive and Bellview Drive in Culmore:
- March 4, 12:01 a.m. – victim assaulted; suspected attempted to take property.
- March 19, 11:52 a.m. – victim’s property and money taken by force.
- March 21, 12:45 p.m. – attempt to take victim’s property by force.
- March 25, 10 p.m. – victim assaulted; three suspects attempted to take property.
- March 27, 10:28 a.m. – victim’s property and money taken by force.
- March 28, 11:08 p.m. – victim’s property and money taken by force.
