Man dies from injuries in Annandale crash
The passenger in a truck involved in a crash on Little River Turnpike in Annandale on Jan. 27 has died from his injuries, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.
Bayron Hernandez Castellanos, 27, of Annandale, was riding in the bed of a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado at about 2:13 a.m. when the driver, Jamie Hernandez Castellanos, 29, of Annandale, made a U-turn near John Marr Drive, lost control, and struck a light pole.
Both men were taken to the hospital for injuries originally not considered to be life-threatening. Bayron died in the hospital on Feb. 21 as a result of his injuries from the crash.
Jamie was charged with driving under the influence and not having an operator’s license.
Detectives from the police department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit are continuing to investigate and will consult with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney to see if additional charges should be sought.
What was the date of the accident?
Jan. 27.
I knew these people personally, Jaime was left with a broken leg, prayers for the family
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. No one should be riding unsecured in the bed of a pickup truck. Was alcohol involved? Driving after 2:00 a.m. it often is. That said, my condolences to the family of Mr. Bayron Castellanos and speedy recovery to Mr. Jaime Castellanos who I hope gets therapy for being responsible for his relative’s death.
