Man robbed on Annandale Road
A man walking by Annandale Road and Holloman Road in Falls Church Aug. 16 was robbed by two men, one of whom displayed a semi-automatic handgun, Fairfax County Police reports. Money was taken and the suspects fled on foot. The victim did not require rescue.
Both suspects were described as black and approximately 18 years old. One was described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall; the other was about 5 feet 10 inches. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Solvers, 866-411-8477, or the police, 703-691-2131.

Semi-automatic? Just wonderful, what time did this occur?
Low income black youth and young adults were already struggling and severely disadvantaged before the uncontrolled flood of immigrants took what little was left. Now it is far worse. There is little else left to them now but to turn to crime. If I was in their shoes I'd do the same. We all would if we were raised with so few educational and financial assets. It is not a bad choice, crime is actually one of their best alternatives given their probability of success in other fields. Don't we all choose our best alternative. Besides, is it any worse than what the bankers do to us. I'll take a stick-up any day over having my 401K or neighborhood shattered by the bankers. At least I would get to see the perp face to face. We just need to stop taking away options from those who have so few and concern ourselves with the serious criminals who have so much.

So what is your take when the robber is armed with a computer and takes hundreds of billions of dollars from innocent people?
This isn't just about money, people are pointing weapons at one another. Did you know that weapons can hurt and even kill people? True story.
A research team from Columbia University determined that in the US in 2000 the number of deaths that could be attributed to low education was ―245,000, due to racial segregation―176,000. The total number of gunshot wounds from assaults treated in hospital emergency departments in 1997 was 39,400 and declining. All homicides committed with a firearm fell from 18,300 in 1993 to 13,300 in 1997, a 27% decline. In 1999 the number was 10,117. Poverty continues to climb dramatically. So which hurts and kills more, armed robbery or poverty and racial segregation? I’m not saying I’m OK with armed assault, or any kind of assault but it is not our biggest problem by a long shot. It is just one symptom of really big problems we are not dealing with. I favor getting rid of the problems rather than the people.
