Man shot at Monticello Apartments

Updated Nov. 25: A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot at about 6:30 a.m. Nov. 21 in the Falls Church area of Mason District, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

The incident happened in the 7300 block of Parkwood Court in the Monticello Apartments behind Graham Park Plaza.

According to the police, the victim was sitting outside his home and saw several unknown men trying to steal his brother’s car. When the victim intervened, he was shot multiple times by one of the men. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were life threatening.

In another recent shooting incident, a teenager standing inside his home in the 4700 block of Parkman Court in Annandale was shot by someone who was outside on Nov. 14 at about 11:45 p.m.

A group of people ran from the area. The victim was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life threatening. “The shooting does not appear to be random,” the FCPD states.

  1. Although I do not agree with Trump's characterization of illegal immigrants, these constant ongoing occurrences that keep happening in Mason reinforces this unfortunate bias. And because of the current Democratic district leadership is so unable to mediate this, all Democrats are faulted for being soft on crime. This all feeds the the super right MAGA folks to believe that this is fact and truth. I say to Democrats, start cleaning up the house before we lose it again to lunatics.

  2. I don't know how crime compares to past years but these past few weeks have seen an increase in shootings in our beloved area. Definitely concerned.

    1. Crime does seem up. But keep in mind this blog only reports things of interest in our area. If you read the police report from fairfax county, you will see that violent crime appears to be on a upswing all over the county.

It’s disturbing to be sure, but pinning it on just Mason is not a fair characterization.

    2. Jeff, thanks for speaking up–you're absolutely right. Now, duck and cover because you're about to get blitzed.

    3. That wouldn't surprise me….and I'm not pinning it on any particular region or person. Just noticing that shootings in particular seem to be cropping up more.

    4. Anon 11:36 AM: take a ride through Culmore and parts of Annandale on the West End near Americana Drive and you will have a very different opinion. This is happening and happening allot. Most of the crimes are being committed by the same element of people. No doubt the pandemic has exasperated this situation but remember the chopped up individual in Holmes Run Stream Park off of Columbia Pike three years ago. We are living among many that should not be here, do not have the same values as you or I, and many on this blog, Regardless, Penny Gross remains mum and has not advised the community what she plans flr diluting the pockets of ghettos in Mason that she helped create.

I am certain Adam will be on next to say that this is all a hoax and that Mason is not alone. Sorry to tell you, but this is not happening everywhere in NOVA, but it will be coming to your neighborhood soon. And that is a penny promise.

A friend of mine had to go to the INOVA ER at Fairfax last week for pneumonia. She was horrified by all the COVID beds in the hallways and the number of stabbings and assaults that were taking resources from treating the really sick. This is what happens when you leave your front and rear doors open and you give the key to a former welfare recipient.
