A man is in critical condition after a shooting at the El Grand Palenque restaurant at 5863 Columbia Pike in Bailey’s Crossroads at about 2:17 a.m. Nov. 12, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.
The victim was shot in his upper body and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The suspect was described as a black man 25 to 30 years old with a thin build. He was wearing blue jeans and a black shirt.
At this time, the motive is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Needels at 703-246-7904 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Solvers. Tipsters are eligible for cash rewards of $100 to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.

That's where all the former "Safari" people go now.
Classy place, and with a new and expanded homeless center coming we can expect more. Its a new kind of urban revitalization. Destroy the place and scare the middle class away until it cannot get any worse. Would not surprise me if Baileys never gets developed. No wonder Avalon Bay high tailed it out of there. Murders by MS 13 in our parks and Columbia Pike becoming El Centro, the land of shoot outs.
I go to La Paz which is right across the street and never have a problem. There are expensive town homes being built by the Fire Station and the homes behind the current homeless shelter are nice. I am middle class and don't plan on going anywhere.
