Man stabs self at Home Depot

The area around the Home Depot at Little River Turnpike and Braddock Road was full of police action this morning following a stabbing incident.

“Officers were dispatched to 6555 Little River Turnpike at the Home Depot in Alexandria at 8:17 a.m. for a man armed with a knife stabbing himself inside the store,” says Fairfax County Police spokesperson Sgt. Tara Gerhard.

“Officers took the man into custody and he was taken to an area hospital for treatment of self-inflicted injuries that are considered life-threatening,” Gerhard reported at 12:30 p.m. All roads have reopened but “the store and parking lot will remain closed while officers continue to investigate.”
