More schools are offering free meal kits once a week
FCPS has been providing free meals for pickup since the pandemic took hold. [FCPS] |
Now that Fairfax County schools have opened for four days of learning a week, many FCPS Grab & Go food distribution sites have switched from daily food pickup to weekly distribution of meal kits.
The kits contain seven days of breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and supper items packed in bulk.
All FCPS students (regardless of age) are eligible for free Grab & Go meals and meal kits, as well as other county children age 18 and younger. The meals will be available through June 30.
On Monday, April 19, all meal kit sites are permanently moving to a Monday distribution day. Hours remain 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or until supplies run out. Adults can purchase a kit for $28.
